Spartan Logistics Announces Transition in Leadership
Columbus, Ohio - 4/13/2021 – Spartan Logistics is proud to announce the appointment of Josh Ledford as President of the company effective May 1.
Josh was first hired by Spartan Logistics in 2002 as an hourly warehouse team member, shortly after coming on as a temporary employee. In 2006, Josh was promoted to a sales role in which he was responsible for identifying new business opportunities and advancing customer relationships. This led to another promotion in 2017 when he was promoted to Executive Vice President of the company. In this role, Josh has overseen the operational strategic plan and continues to mentor warehouse leaders throughout all locations. As President, he will be directly responsible for executing the company’s vision and leading all facets of the business.
As part of this transition, current President Steve Harmon will transition to the role of CEO and CFO. Steve will focus on company culture, external communication as the face of Spartan, creating a long-term vision, and developing a financial and operating strategy for Spartan. During his time as President, Steve expanded Spartan’s footprint from 1.5 million square feet of operating space to 3.4 million and has overseen the addition of eight new locations since 2010. Steve said, “We are very proud of Josh, and it is the sustained trust we have in him that allows us to make this transition. His progress from warehouse team member to company President shows his dedication to continuous learning and commitment to this company.”
